ABOUT GILI MENO


Seri Resort is on Lombok's paradise island, Gili Meno.

Snorkel directly off the beachfront in pristine coral gardens. Swim in turquoise lagoons. Explore the saltwater lake in the centre of the island and visit the turtle sanctuary.

Marvel at the sunrise and the sunset. Enjoy simple cafes and sophisticated dining. Wine and dine at Seri Resort's own three tiered restaurant or enjoy neighbouring resorts.

Cycle around the island. Stroll along powdery beaches. Loan a kayak and snorkelling gear and marvel at the turtles and colourful fish right in front of our resort.

SCHEDULE OF ACTIVITIES


Each day will include mindfulness training & practice including:

  • Workshop sessions exploring ways to live with greater
    presence, clarity, and ease in our lives
  • Optional Yoga sessions including Mindful Hatha and Restorative and Yin Yoga

Typical Daily program might include

  • 6.30am - Morning Sunrise meditation
  • 7-8am - Morning Mindful movement and practice session
  • 8am to 9am - Breakfast
  • 10:45am - 12:30pm - Workshop (including meditation) 
  • 12.30 – 4pm -  Lunch and free time
  • 4pm - Afternoon session (mindful movement and/or sitting meditation
  • 6.30-7.30pm - Dinner
  • 8pm - Evening program

MEET YOUR TEACHERs


Hi! I’m Nik, a qualified MBSR facilitator and the founder of the Mindfulness Project.

I’ve spent years teaching the 8-week Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) course, and have experience hosting both national & international mindfulness & yoga retreats.

I’ve worked as an Addiction Counsellor, where I taught mindfulness-based relapse prevention to people in recovery for addictive behaviours/in residential rehabilitation facilities.

I also provided general counseling in reducing stress, anxiety, and family-related issues.

I live in the Yarra Valley of Australia with my husband Pete and our 3 kids, Bella, Charli, and Billy.

I can’t wait to see you on retreat!

Hi, I’m Mark, an experienced MBSR facilitator and psychologist.

I’ve been teaching mindfulness based programs for about 5 years.  I love joining people on their mindfulness journey and seeing the changes it can bring.  Besides teaching the MBSR course, I teach mindfulness to staff within organisations to help them get more satisfaction and meaning out of work.  I also work as a senior manager in the NSW government.

This is my second international mindfulness program with Nik and I’m excited to be part of the Mindfulness Project.

I’m looking forward to meeting you and enjoying the week together.

  • Private Bungalow with Garden Views $1990 (per person, couples sharing $1590 each)
  • We have secured the most luxurious accommodation, however, if you would like a more afordable option, with twin share or bale huts and shared bathrooms please let us know and depending on availability we may be able to offer these.

TRAVEL INFORMATION

  • Australian passport holders and those on the exemption list may visit Indonesia for up to 30 days  without obtaining a Visa, with a passport that is valid for at least 6 months.
  • Flights: The retreat is held on the beautiful island of Gili Meno, Indonesia. You will need to organise your flights to Lombok and transfers to Seri Resort, Gili Meno. Please contact our good friend Sarah at Flight Centre on (03) 9735-1237 or sarah.walpole@flightcentre.com.au who will be happy to assist you with your booking.
  • Travel Insurance: Please ensure you have travel insurance (approx. $50 AUD) - a requirement of attending the retreat. You will generally need to take out a policy within 14 days of booking your flights. Your private health fund may offer travel insurance. We also have found Cover More to offer competitive rates.

There will be periods of silence however this is not a silent retreat. Please visit dharma.org.au for a list of silent retreats scheduled in Australia.

+ Are yoga and sitting meditation props available?

There are chairs, bolsters and yoga mats. Please bring any specialised sitting equipment including stools if you use them. You might also like to bring your own yoga mat.
